The trajectory from drug use to addiction begins against a background of vulnerability based upon genetic and environmental factors. As this disease progresses, atypical neuronal plasticity may occur within key brain circuits, which contributes to the development and maintenance of addiction. While the dopaminergic and glutamatergic circuits have definitive roles in the neuroplasticity underlying addiction, important advances in understanding serotonergic mechanisms in addictive processes have been made in recent years. In addition, there is growing evidence that dysregulation of the serotonin system by long-term exposure to drugs of abuse may underlie the high rate of comorbidity of affective disorders (e.g., depression) with drug dependence.
Research from the journal "Frontiers in Integrative Neuroscience" proposes a rationale for how rhythmic input can improve sensorimotor functioning and overall growth in cognition, behavior, social skills, and communication. Because movement is critical to many areas of functioning, researchers LaGasse and Hardy hypothesize that the well-documented benefits of rhythm in motor rehabilitation could also be effective for individuals with autism.

During pregnancy, as the size of the baby and belly increase, many women compensate for a weaker core by tightly gripping and tucking their glutes. When core stability is particularly compromised – glute gripping becomes a way of survival.
Tucking your pelvis and gripping your butt means you are not properly activating your glutes. A tight muscle is not a strong muscle!
If you squeeze your glutes all day looking for more core stability, your glutes muscles become tight and weak. Over time, this imbalance leads to “pancake butt”, “dormant butt syndrome”, “mom butt”, or any number of less than endearing terms for weaker and less shapely glutes.
Every living being has a physiology – both external and internal, that supports the functions we are meant to do. What Is Your Skin Barrier?
Your skin barrier is basically your outer layer of skin. It’s dead, not alive, and it’s made up of dead cells, lipids, proteins and fats that help protect your skin from the environment. The rest of your skin is a living organism but your skin barrier’s role is to keep that living organism well-protected from things that could harm it. Think of it like armour, protecting all the delicate skin just beneath the surface. It works to keep water in and to keep chemicals and infectious bacteria out. So, it’s very important for our skin health.
